A video for Hillary Clinton's campaign had a photo of Hillary waving beside Mother Teresa, while Bill Clinton as narrator said, "Hillary in effect, was the face of America, in Africa, in India, ..."
Mother Teresa on her deathbed asked her order of nuns to guard her name from opportunists who would attempt to use her to advance their own ends. Since 2003 the order of nuns, the Missionaries of Charity, have protected by copyright the name and images of Mother Teresa.
Unlike Hillary Clinton who supports abortion on demand, Mother Teresa vehemently opposed equating abortion with either women's rights or human rights. She stated that "Motherhood is the gift of God to women" and that it is destroyed "by the evil of abortion."
The campaign video was pulled after the Catholic based political advocacy group Fidelis alerted the order of nuns. Joseph Cella, president of Fidelis, said "It is wholly inappropriate, disrespectful and disturbing that Hillary Clinton shamelesly expoited Mother's image as a political tool."
